Thank you so much for your interest in helping us raise money and awareness about Human Trafficking.
So yeah, if you're willing... here's what we need!
Upload a picture of yourself wearing a White Clay Mask to either instagram, twitter or facebook and...
1. Tag back to @projectfutures (if you do this via facebook, make sure you actually tag back so that it's a clickable link)
2. Tag back to @cactusskincare (once again make sure this is clickable)
3. Hashtag #mercymask
4. Share a fact about human trafficking (I'll include a list of facts to choose from below).
5. Tell everyone that @cactusskincare are donating one dollar from every sample pack we sell and $5 from every Bundle Pack or White Clay Mask to the good work being done by project futures.
So, for example your post might read something like this:
Hi guys, I am taking part in #mercymask to help fight human trafficking. Did you know that profits from sex slavery exceed US9.5 billion per year? @cactusskincare are donating $1 from every sample pack sold and $5 from every White Clay Mask (even in a bundle pack) to @projectfutures who are helping raise money and awareness about this horrible trade.
(if you wanted to talk about what Cactus Skincare has done for your skin, that's up to you. I don't want to put words in your mouth but testimonials may make it an easier decision for people to get onboard. Just make sure it's honest.)
(end of post)
Ok, and if you want to find out more about the work being done by Project Futures, go and have a look here:
And here are a few facts about human trafficking... just a warning, some of these facts are pretty horrifying... if you're willing, please pick one of these facts to share as part of your post.
-According to UNICEF, 2 million children will be sold into the sextrade in the next year. Studies indicate that children in prostitution may be victimised by 100-1500 perpetrators per year.
-In South East Asia, many children are sold for as little as $50 and some as young as 6 years old.
-Profits from sex slavery exceed US9.5 billion per year.
-Human trafficking is the second largest organised crime in the world. It has become a bigger business than drug trafficking.
-The U.N estimates that 2.5 million people from 127 countries have been trafficked to 137 countries for purposes such as forced labour, sexual exploitation, removal of organs, forced marriages, child adoption and begging.
-A 2006 study found that 76% of trafficked women were physically abused by their trafficker, 90% were physically forced to engage in sexual acts and 91% were threatened with death, beatings, harm to their families and re-trafficking.
-In 2009 there were only 4,166 successful human trafficking prosecutions worldwide, 335 of which were for forced labor.
