Stephanie has been using Cactus for over 3 years now and over the years I've gotten to know her a bit and she is an amazing woman. After finding success as a model she decided she wanted to pursue a career in finance and is a very smart lady. She's also super passionate about ethical living and yeah... definitely someone worth paying attention to!

So I thought I asked her if she wouldn't mind doing an interview for us here. Really hope you guys like! Please let me know what you think and what I could improve for next time!

Ryan:

So Stephanie, how long have you been using Cactus Skincare for?

Steph:

Gosh, I've been using Cactus for so long now I've lost track! I think it's been at least 3 years or so now!

Ryan:

I suppose it has been a while now, time flies! What's your regimen like? Can you talk us through it?

Stephanie Hunt | Cactus Skincare

Steph:

I do a quick cleanse with my Lemon Myrtle Cleanser followed by the Light Balancing Cream in the mornings, then in the evenings it's the Cleanser again followed by Nature's Antioxidant Cream. Also once a week I use the Gentle Exfoliant before doing the White Clay Mask. My skin feels so incredible after that !

Ryan:

What was your skin like before you started using Cactus? Did anyone notice the change?

Steph:

Yep for sure haha... the improvements have been huge ! I barely ever get any pimples and probably the biggest change is the overall evenness. My skin used to be very blemishy, oily one day and terribly dry the next. Now it's consistently smooth, clean and blemish free - such a big change !

Ryan:

Yeah, I know a lot of people struggle with regulating oil production so that's great we were able to help you out with that! Awesome! I know you also went vegan not too long ago, did that have any effect on your skin?

Steph:

Going vegan has had such a profound impact on my skin. I've barely had a single pimple since going vegan and up until then it's something I constantly struggled with and never seemed to be able to eliminate despite trying every remedy I came across . Combining my plant based diet with a great skincare product like Cactus, and drinking a lot of water, has honestly been life changing for me.

Ryan:

That's really great to hear. Ok... so is modelling your main thing? Or do you have other aspirations as well? Side passions?

Steph:

Modelling was the main thing for a few years before eventually getting into the corporate world. I still absolutely love modelling though so I keep it up as often as I can. It's such a nice change of pace and one of my few really creative outlets. The dream would be to combine my passion for entrepreneurship and ethical business with my love for modelling/fashion , so I hope that's what I'm working towards ultimately !

Ryan:

Yeah that would be awesome! I really feel like that is the future. I'm a big believer that business will be the main driver for positive change in the world. At the end of the day, change is made with how we choose to spend our resources and people are voting with their wallets for more ethical products. I always love getting emails from people asking really specific questions about ingredients and environmental impact of packaging. Really shows that people are getting engaged with what they can do to change the world and that's only going to grow I reckon. What sort of business would you like to get into do you think?

Steph:

That's so good to hear. It's great to see people becoming more conscious and responsible as consumers, because that's what's going to force change ultimately! I'd absolutely love to have my own ethical fashion and lifestyle e-commerce business one day, and even further down the road I'd love to have my own little vegan cafe too! But they're just pipe dreams for now- I guess we'll see !

Ryan:

That'd be great. Yeah I've thought of doing a vegan cafe too. I think you know that I used to make coffee in cafe's too? I really like doing latte art but hate how much milk cafe's go through. Cashew milk is actually awesome in a latte and you can make it yourself. Have you ever had a cashew milk latte?

Steph:

Yes I do remember ! Can't say I've ever had a cashew milk latte before, sounds awesome though! I normally do soy or almond milk, but try to only do organic soy- can't go past Bonsoy!

Ryan:

Yeah, I remember when it was such a big deal if cafe's had bonsoy, it was always nearly twice the price of it's nearest competitor, but now... well, you can't really do soy if you're not doing bonsoy... well, when you do launch your ethical fashion thing or the cafe, I hope you'll let me know if I can help at all! It would be awesome to see you do well with it.

Steph:

Thanks Ryan! Really appreciate that. As I said though, just pipe dreams for now but hopefully one day 🙂. You're still in Canada btw, right ? Where are you in Canada?

Ryan:

I'm in Vancouver. Such a beautiful area. Didn't expect it to be quite so lush here! It rains a lot and it's sunny a lot. Big contrast but makes fantastic conditions for lots of greenery. But Vancouver has a lot of character. Really lush, green landscape and cool cafes, shops etc... not that I go out much. I work too much! Although I've started doing Muay Thai kickboxing which I'm enjoying a lot more than I thought I would. Awesome workout too.

Steph:

Sounds great, I'd love to see Canada one day. Yeah Muay Thai would be intense! Good on you.

Ryan:

It is! I can't quite keep up all the time but it's a great challenge! What sort of fitness are you into nowadays? Do you get to train often?

Steph:

No unfortunately I am only able to exercise 2 days a week now , 3 on a really good week. It's normally just 2 barre sessions a week, it's a combination of yoga, Pilates and ballet. I love it and feel I'm getting more from it just twice a week than when I was just doing my own exercise 4-6 times a week before

Ryan:

Wow! I've never heard of that? I'll have to check it out, sounds interesting! Although I don't think I'll switch up from kickboxing... really enjoying that! Ok... so, other than your weekly regimen with Cactus, do you have any other skin tips for us?

Steph:

From my own experience, my skin has always been at its best when I'm taking care of it from both the inside and outside. Drinking lots of water regularly throughout the day , eating a wholesome plant based diet and going to a natural, organic skincare range (in my case Cactus), have personally made the biggest difference for me. It's quite a beautiful thing to see your body reward you for making better choices both for your health and for the planet.

Ryan:

Thanks so much Stephanie, really looking forward to hearing about the new business as it develops! Make sure you keep us updated!

Steph:

I will! Thanks Ryan!

Stephanie uses the Combination Skin Bundle with the Gentle Exfoliant. What kind of site would this be if I didn't include a link ;)
